Betty Ann (McNamara) Lestage, 93 died at home with her family by her side on Friday April 4, 2025, with failing health and onset of dementia.
She was born in Burlington, VT on August 1, 1931 the daughter of Harold and Thelma May McNamara. Betty married Paul R. Lestage on August 2, 1952 in Burlington. Betty was a homemaker, she loved doing puzzles, crocheting, sewing, and cooking for her family and friends.
Betty is survived by her 3 children, Robert Lestage and his wife Sara of Colchester VT, Ronald Lestage and his wife Lori of Colchester VT, Judy Alger of Milton, VT; a brother-in-law John and Pamela Lestage of Lecanto, FL; 8 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Paul R. Lestage, her two brothers John and Walter McNamara, her sister Marion Porter, and son-in-law Patrick Alger.
The family would like to thank Dr. Kimberly Dauerman, Dr. Rob Hemond, the staff at UVMMC Baird 4, and UVM HHH for all the kind care given to Betty over the years, and her caregiver Cathy Gidney.
Contributions in Betty's memory may be made to St. Mark's Church, 1251 North Ave., Burlington, VT 05408.
Visiting hours will be from 4pm to 7pm on Wednesday, April 9, at LaVigne Funeral Home, 132 Main St, Winooski, VT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Thursday, April 10, at St Mark's Church with interment to follow at New Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Plattsburgh, Ave., Burlington.
