Beverly "Bev" Joan Dezotell, age 86, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024 at the Four Seasons Care Home in Northfield. Bev was born on January 21, 1938 in Northfield, VT, the daughter of Joseph and Lucy (Hodgdon) Vilbrin. She grew up in Northfield where she received her early education. She married Lyman "Curly" Dezotell on March 23, 1957. The couple had lived in Jericho, Montpelier, Waterbury and moved back to Northfield in 1965. Together they raised six children.
Beverly was a career seamstress, working for Merry Maids in Randolph and retiring later from Vermont Flannel in Barre. Being a mother of six children, she learned to be handy, and was known for her sewing projects and making wreaths for the holidays. She was also a devoted attendee of the United Church of Northfield. Above all, she loved spending time with her family.
Beverly is survived by her children Gordon Dezotell of Newport, Rory and wife Paula Dezotell of Williamstown, Stuart and wife Loretta Dezotell of Randolph, Lorinda Dezotell and partner Danny Clark of Berlin, and Sondra and husband Scott Shepardson of Attleboro, Massachusetts. She is also survived by her sister Mary Lou Premont of Gurdon, Arkansas, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Beverly is predeceased by her husband Lyman "Curly" Dezotell, her son Lyman R. Dezotell Jr, her brothers James, Richard, and John, as well as sisters Janice, Phyllis, Shirley, and Cynthia.
A celebration of Bev's life will be held at the United Church of Northfield, where she was a long time parishioner, on Saturday, October 12th at 11:00, followed by a burial at the Hope Cemetery in Barre. Arrangements are in the care of Kingston Funeral Home.
