Essex/Williston

Carl Burnett, 67, passed peacefully on Sunday, June 8th to reside in his forever home with his God.

He is predeceased by his mother and father, Edward and Jean Burnett of Williston and his older brother Edward Jr. of Rouses Point, New York.

He leaves his three children, Jordan of Florida, Zachary of Colchester, and Amelia of St. Albans; his siblings; sister Judy Ashley and husband Dale of Florida, brother Gary and wife Judy of Colchester, sister Darlene Ashley of Williston, brother Wayne and wife Jeannie of Williston, sister Ruth Chandler and husband John of Massachusetts, brother Brian and wife Donna of Richmond, brother James and wife Susan of Monkton, brother Mark and wife Kristy of Williston, and many nieces and nephews.

Carl worked mainly in construction as a carpenter and painter.

Carl enjoyed and played many sports in his youth including baseball, tennis, soccer and hockey. His favorite team was the Boston Bruins.

Carl was very thankful for his family and all the support they provided and those who were with him through his journey at the end.

The place he called home allowed him to live out his life in solidarity and peace and to pass with dignity to his next home.

Carl loved his solitude and spent his days writing poetry, praying and studying the bible.

Carl…you will be missed.

A graveside service will be held this Saturday, June 14th at 11:00am at the East Cemetery in Williston.
