Obituary

Caroljean Poulin (CJ), beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many passed away from natural causes, on December 14, 2023 at the age of 91. She was born on January 16, 1932 in Cleveland Ohio to Mary (Longo) and Carl Lozon II. Her family moved to Vermont in 1943 where she graduated at Cathedral High School in 1949. In Shelburne, she married Francis H Poulin on July 9th, 1950.

CJ served many roles over the years. She was a mother of seven, a housewife, office worker, volunteer and bartender. She worked many years at the Harbor Hideaway where she enjoyed meeting new people and entertaining them with her beautiful voice. She loved all the holidays and made each one special for her family and friends. Her children and grandchildren enjoyed many Sunday meals at their home over the years, her door was always open to anyone.

CJ was known for her unwavering faith in God. She served as Eucharistic Minister, reader of Masses, and the head of St. Catherine's Society. She worked as staff in the office, helped and often led preparations of countless meals for outreach. She took care of the parish hall doing whatever was needed, always giving of herself. She was rarely still, but always made time for her family and friends.

Caroljean was the rock and heart of the neighborhood on Green Hills Dr. Everyone has a story of her care so freely given. A ready heart and open hand. After having 6 grown children God gifted the family with a precious special child, Mary. She devoted 30 years to giving Mary a wonderful life full of love and devotion. There is no doubt how much CJ will be missed by many.

Caroljean is survived by her daughters Catherine Croteau and husband Ray, Jane Cassidy and her husband, Ken and her sons Joseph Poulin and wife Kingsley and John Poulin and wife Karen, her sister Connie Munro of Alaska and brother Carl Lozon III of Colchester, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, countless nieces and nephews, and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Frances H Poulin, her sons Andrew and Michael Poulin, and her daughter Mary Frances Poulin. We'd like to give a special shout-out to Jeannette, Dan, and the family for their unwavering love and friendship throughout the years.
