Carter Allen Dennis - Burlington, VT

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our son Carter, age 29. Carter passed away peacefully in his sleep. Carter was a quiet person who absorbed everything around him, always watching and learning. He loved hunting, going to the shooting range, and cars. Carter would talk endlessly with anyone who would listen about those three things. Carter cared deeply for his family and friends and would do anything to protect and help them, often losing sleep to figure out a problem for them. Carter loved gaming with his brother Brent online and was very proud of his brother Stephen. Carter loved his nephews and loved watching them play. Carter loved animals and missed his cat which passed in 2020.

Carter leaves behind his parents Rodney and Michele Dennis of Burlington; his brothers Stephen Dennis and girlfriend Samantha Beaudoin of Middlesex, and Brent and Kaylee Dennis of Williston; his nephews, Blake, Kolby, and Elias of Williston; his Godmother, Aunt Vanessa and Uncle Scott Lavigne of Milton; Godfather, Uncle David and Aunt Caroyln Dennis of Milton; his Uncle Glenn and Aunt Christy Dennis of Milton, Aunt Janie Hall, and Aunt Karen Turner both of Colchester, Uncle Ernest (Chip) Levesque of Bolton, and Uncle Andre Levesque of Merrill New York. Carter had a large family with many cousins which he cared for deeply.

Carter was predeceased by his grandparents Albert & Irene (Pat) Dennis of Colchester and Ernest & Donna Levesque of South Burlington.

We would like to thank Dr. Melissa Brandes and Megan Burr for their help with Carter to become more independent and trusting in the world around him. We would also like to thank his dear friends Tyler and Chris for always being there for Carter.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Eagles Club, 1233 Shelburne Road, So. Burlington, VT. A burial will be held at a later date.
