Claude Paul Wyman
August 8th, 1946 – September 13th, 2025
Claude Paul Wyman, 79, of Hyde Park, passed away with his family by his side at his home on Saturday, September 13th, 2025. Born on August 8th, 1946, in Sunderland, he was the son of the late Leslie and Lena (Maxham) Wyman. He married Bonita "Bonnie" Gowen on June 6th, 1970, in Orwell.
He grew up in Shrewsbury and moved to Orwell during his freshman year of high school. He was a 1964 graduate of Fair Haven High School. After high school, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart medals. After serving his country in Vietnam, he returned to Vermont and lived in Burlington, working for the Brinks Company. In 1980, he and Bonnie moved to Hyde Park. He worked for several years as a heavy Equipment Operator for H.A. Manosh Corporation of Morrisville.
Claude lived his happiest days on roadtrips and fishing with his wife Bonnie by his side. Adding his children or grandchildren just made it more special for him. Claude enjoyed tinkering on his lawnmower, motorcycle, and snow machines; he was a Jack of all trades. If he needed a tool, he'd create it or invent it. His old-fashioned ingenuity would "fix it," and that has been lovingly passed down to his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Bonnie Wyman of Hyde Park, his son David Wyman, and his wife Naomi of Waterville; his daughters, Kelly Stuber and her husband Bernie of Troy, Tracy Small and her husband Devin of Craftsbury; His grandchildren, Seth Wyman, Shae Wyman, Austin Dolan and his wife Keisha, Eva Small, Waylon Small, Audrey Small, Colton Small, Tucker Small; his sister Shirley Graves of Wallingford. As well as nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at the Hyde Park Center Cemetery in Hyde Park on Monday, September 22nd, 2025, at 1 pm. For those who wish, memorial gifts in Claude's memory can be made to the Lamoille Area Cancer Network. Please visit lacnvt.org .
Our family would like to give our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Lamoille Home Health and Hospice. From the staff that's out on the road sharing their wisdom and guiding the care, to the staff in the office…they make it possible for our loved ones to be home and surrounded by family. We appreciate all of you as we made our way through this difficult chapter.
