David Brian Spaulding, age 70, of Morrisville, VT passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025 at Copley Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer, with his family by his side.

David was born on November 30, 1954 to Lucille M. (Farrand) and Roy Ray Spaulding Jr.

After graduating from People's Academy in 1974, David married Barbara Bradshaw in 1975. Together they had four daughters. David worked at Atlas Plywood and then at the Vermont State Hospital before opening Spaulding Care Home, where he worked as a personal care provider for 43 years. David continued his education over the years, taking various courses to improve his knowledge and skills in the field of caretaking.

David met his partner, Doris Porter, in 2019 and cherished the time they had together. In 2023 and 2024, David had the opportunity to take cruises to the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and other places. Especially memorable during his travels, David swam with dolphins and played with monkeys. David lived life to the fullest. He had a fondness and appreciation for all animals. He enjoyed swimming, biking, gardening, and especially loved mowing the lawn. He was also a big fan of the Boston Red Sox and the NY Giants.

Left to cherish David's memory are his four daughters: Brittany Jones and her husband, Josh, and their three children, Ross, Rowan, and Rhett of VA; Lorabeth Spaulding-Hopkins and her son, David (Tre) Hopkins of NC; Dee-J Spaulding of VA; and Myrlande Spaulding of VA; his partner, Doris, and her children, Tina and Kevin; his siblings, Dale Spaulding and partner, Tammy of FL; Alan Spaulding of Morrisville; Lori Spaulding Sturges and her husband, Jonathan of Morrisville; special nephew, Jeremy Bradshaw and his children, Haylee and Bryce; very special family members, Aaron and Bridget Courtemanche and their children, Emma and Maki; and dear friends, Steve and Teila Leach, and Casey Leach.

David was predeceased by his parents, Roy and Lucille, and his wife, Barbara.

Per David's wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. A private family service will be held in the Spring.
