Obituary

Dean Marchacos, age 62. Lost his battle with cancer on June 18, 2024. Dean passed away peacefully in his home on the mountain in Huntington.

Dean graduated from Colchester High School, he spent lots of time in Essex in his teen years also, always keeping his parents on their toes. Dean grew up to be a man that all could admire, He enjoyed being outdoors and spent many years logging which he loved. Through the years he became the man who could fix everything. Never a job to big or too small. He enjoyed time in the sugar woods. Loved to hunt and truly enjoyed working with wood. He made some amazing projects through the years.

Dean leaves behind his special friend, Diane, his dog Charlie, Diane's miniature horse Prancer and bird Sky. Dean leaves his sister, Melanie who he shared a special bond with.

He leaves his children Jennifer and her husband Brendan Pease of Farfax, Joe Miller of Essex, and Jamie Russell and her significant other Tony of Grand Rapids, MI, His 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind two very close friends he grew up with, Brian Hathaway and his wife Beth, Rodney and Michelle Dennis. And special friend Archie Donaghy Many friends and family members.

He is predeceased by his parents George and Deborah Marchacos, and his life partner and mother to the children, Gail Donaghy.

Anyone who knew Dean was blessed. He was known to be the mountain man to many, living in a place many could not journey to in the winter. He was always willing to jump in and help with anything. He made an amazing impact on the lives of his children and grandchildren. They will forever be grateful for the memories with him.

Dean has asked for no services. A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.

His children would like to send a special thank you to Diane for all the love and support she gave to Dean through his journey in the last few years. A thank you to Addison Home Health and Hospice, along with UVMMC Oncology and Dartmouth.
