Elmer William Martin Jr. 92 of Winooski, Vermont passed away peacefully on June 30,2026.

Born April 12, 1934 in Burlington, Vermont to Mary and Elmer Martin Sr., Elmer served in the Vermont Army National Guard from 1956 to 1962. He worked for the Burlington school district for over 35 years. His passion was bottle picking. He loved collecting cans and bottles and cashing them in for extra income. He also enjoyed ice fishing and deer hunting.

Elmer married Janette M. LaRock on April 8, 1961 at Saint Stephen's Church in Winooski, Vermont. They had six children, Tina, Sherry, Tammy, Tim, Sandra and Laurie. Elmer was preceded in death by wife, Janette, and daughters Sherry O'Grady, Sandra Peck, and Laurie Jones.

A wake will be held at LaVigne Funeral Home, 132 Main Street, Winooski, on Tuesday, July 7, from 5pm to 7pm. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 9, at 11:00am at St. Stephen's Cemetery, Gorge Rd., in Winooski.
