Fay Sweet, a devoted mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026, after a richly lived life. Fay enjoyed visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her lifelong interests of embroidery and gardening. She was known for her generosity, her sense of style, her griddle pancakes, and her Sunday lunches. Her humor, her warm kitchen, and her famous chocolate chip cookies will be deeply missed (along with many other delicious homemade recipes).

Fay was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Sweet and her son, Tommy Sweet.

She is survived by her loving children Deb Willins, Diane McNally, Ronnie D. Sweet, and Bonnie Schumacher. In addition, she leaves behind seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A special thanks for the care and kindness provided by the UVM Cardiac Unit and the incredible hospice team. Thank you to her brothers, Roger and Randy, who provided immeasurable support over the years with their many skills. To our soul sister, Angie Myers, we love you. Tim Tenney, you are one in a million. Deb Patnaude, thank you for everything.

Friends and family may attend the wake on Wednesday, May 6th from 2 PM to 4 PM at Corbin and Palmer Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Shelburne. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 7th at 11 AM at Trinity Episcopal Church in Shelburne. A luncheon will follow at the Parish Hall of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.
