Winooski, VT

Frances (Patsy) Villemaire Decarreau passed away on February 11, 2025, after a long illness. She was born on February 24, 1936 to Clement and Gertrude (Sullivan) Villemaire and lived her life in Winooski, Vermont. On September 21, 1957 she married Robert (Bob) Decarreau.

Patsy and Bob raised their five children, Kathy/Deac (Marti Levine) of Winooski, Mike (Jill) of Winooski, Jim/Jed (Pam) of Cocoa Beach, FL, Peter (Mike Sipple) of Haverhill, Ma, and John (Paula) of Acworth, Ga. They have eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Patsy could sew anything, from ripped football jerseys to band uniforms to wedding dresses. She loved her sewing room, both as a work space and a sanctuary. She loved to sing with her sisters and brothers, bake for her brood, and laugh with the love of her life. She loved well and was well loved. Patsy and Bob were inseparable for 67 years and wrote a beautiful story of giving, living, and loving.

She is predeceased by her parents, her sisters Rita, Rose (Bob Larivee), and Claire (Conrad/Tiny Ritchie); her brothers Raymond (Shirley), Gerard (Ruth), and Charlie; and her inlaws Bill and Ann Germain.

She leaves her husband, Bob, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; her brother Bert (Theresa) Villemaire and her sister-in-law Beverly (Charlie) Villemaire. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank the staff at Our Lady of Providence and her Bayada Hospice team for the care she received. We are also grateful for the residents of OLP and her neighbors on Orchard Terrace who befriended Mom and visited with her and dad through these last days. We will not forget your kindness.
