Obituary

Frank Wilford Plumley, 93, of Northfield, Vermont, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2025, at his home. Born on May 22, 1931, in Monson, Massachusetts, Frank was the beloved son of Gladys Hughson Plumley and Wilford Frank Plumley.

Frank graduated from West Springfield High School in 1950 and went on to lead a fulfilling life of service, hard work, and dedication. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for four years as a DC-3 during the Korean War.

In 1954, Frank married the love of his life, Judith Dick Plumley. Together, they built a life full of love and shared joy, celebrating 58 years of marriage before Judith's passing in 2013.

Frank's career was marked by his extensive work in the construction and truck equipment industries, including his time with O'Connell & Sons, Raymond International, and as a branch manager for Alco Equipment in South Burlington, Vermont. He later became Sales Manager for Renolds & Son Truck Equipment in South Barre, before concluding his career at R.R. Charlebois in Colchester, Vermont, retiring in 1996.

A dedicated community member, Frank served as President of the Vermont Truck & Bus Association, and Rotary Club, He participated in Kiwanis Club from 1974-1975, as well as Lieutenant Governor of the New England District Kiwanis. He was deeply committed to his faith and the United Church of Northfield, where he served in numerous leadership roles, including as moderator and trustee emeritus of the Brown Public Library.

Frank had a passion for antiques, woodworking, gardening, and house restoration. His hobbies reflected his meticulous nature and appreciation for craftsmanship.

Frank is survived by his sons, Walter H. Plumley (Peggy) of Northfield, VT, and Douglas H. Plumley (Debra) of South Hero, VT; his brothers, Norris M. Plumley (Cay) of Scottsdale, AZ, and Kenneth Plumley of Southwick, MA; Grandchildren: Heather Roberts (Rick) Denver, CO; Sherman Plumley (Felicia) Barre, VT; Christopher Mount (Alexandria) Burlington, VT; Luke Plumley Northfield, VT; Daniel Plumley (Michelle) Enosburg Falls, VT; Devin Hackett (Mandi), South Hero, VT; Dylan Plumley, Honolulu, HI; Great Grandchildrent: Alexia Plumley, Kaitlyn Plumley, John Roberts, Aidan Plumley (Alyena), Jacob Thomas, Cole Plumley, Gabriel Stone, Ryver Plumley, Cullen Hackett, Liam Hackett, Winnifred Mount and Arthur Mount. Great Great Grandchildren: Evie Thomas, Evalynn Plumley.

He was predeceased by his wife, Judith, his parents, and his brother, Barry H. Plumley.

A celebration of life will be held at the United Church of Northfield at 11 am on February 8, 2025. Burial will take place at the Veteran's Cemetery in Randolph, Vermont, at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the United Church of Northfield or the Brown Public Library. Arrangements are under the care of Kingston's Funeral Home, Northfield, Vermont.

Frank's life was a testament to dedication, love, and community, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
