Frederick Barnum Smith, son of Frederick Barkley Smith and Helen M. (Barnum) Smith was born August 11, 1934 in Monkton VT.

He graduated from Burlington High School and worked on the family farm, Shearer Chevrolet, Vermont Air National Guard, and retired from IBM in 1990. He married Elizabeth (Betty) Lynde on December 5, 1959. The Smiths lived in Shelburne, Essex, Westford and Milton. They were involved in, Western Style Square Dancing and Maple Sugaring for over 40 years. He loved the outdoors belonging to the Green Mt. Club, ADK46ers, and Friendship Lodge # 24 in Charlotte.

He is survived by children Amanda, Sara, Eric and Johanna, 6 grandchildren, brothers James and Roger Kendall and their families. He was predeceased by parents, wife and daughter Elaine.

In keeping with his wishes, services will be private and held at the convenience of his family.
