Gary Lee Godin, 61, passed away unexpectedly on January 19, 2026, following a sudden cardiac event. Gary is survived by his wife, Alice Godin; his children, Avery Godin(Cari), Aaryn McLean(Cameron), Rosy Kirk (Mitch), and Claire Palmer (Bryant) and Alyssa Shaubach(Andrew),; and his grandchildren, Sylas and Zander McLean, Ophelia Godin, Madison Palmer Osborne, Trace and Rowen Shaubach, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends. He is also survived by his siblings, Sherry Godin, Cathy Duncan, Geoffrey Godin, and Rene Godin. He was predeceased by his parents, Rene and Ruth Godin, and his sister, Donna.

Gary was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who was known for his kindness, generosity, and steady presence. Gary took great pride in the life he built – his home, his work, and most of all his family. He enjoyed spending time on various projects with his family, hunting, fishing and traveling when life permitted it. Gary was known for silly dad jokes and always trying to make people smile. Gary was never shy about expressing his love, appreciation, or pride for those around him, and he made a lasting impact on his community through his willingness to help others whenever he could.

A celebration of life will be held on January 31, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Waterville Town Hall in Waterville, Vermont.
