Gayle
Phelps
Aug 16, 1953 — Nov 4, 2025
It is with great sadness to announce Gayle Elizabeth Phelps passed away on November 4th, 2025 in Port Charlotte, Florida. She was born on August 16th, 1953, in Burlington, Vermont to Warner and Barbara Phelps.
Gayle was a huge sports fan. She loved the Red Sox, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Tampa Bay Lightnings. She enjoyed camping in Cape Cod with her parents and brothers. She was an expert skier and played tennis. She could party with the best of them and loved her wine. She enjoyed trips to Aruba and Las Vegas. She loved gambling and scratch tickets and won lots over the years and was always excited to call with the news of her winnings. She was very lucky. Gayle worked in the ski industry for Rossignol and Dynastar for 40 years as a powerful credit manager. She then moved on to work at Tampa International Forest Products for the next 20 years in the same role. She loved her family and she was generous and compassionate. She had beautiful blue eyes and her hair, makeup and clothes were always to perfection. A special birthday was shared between Gayle and Jess and later Jimmy and Mary's anniversary. Her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving and to be surrounded with family at her parents and helping with the turkey and tasting the stuffing and making the gravy. She enjoyed cooking and making good food....her very favorite was tuna noodle casserole. She loved making Thanksgiving dinner feast, spending hours and transporting the food to work for her co-workers to enjoy.
A very special thanks to her neighbor Martha, who was Gayle's godsend and became her very dear friend. She loved you very much.
She loved her bulldog Tulip and named all her dogs over the years after her favorite flowers. Gayle was known as the Snack bar queen, a few of her very favorite places to visit were Al's French fries and Joe's snack bar. She will be missed greatly by her friends and family. We will all keep her memory alive by thinking about Gayle and all the fun times we enjoyed with her. She was unique and lived her life as she wanted and had no regrets. She can now move on to her next journey.
She is survived by her brother Jimmy Phelps and wife Mary and their children, Tracey Phelps, and her partner Frank, Rebekah Cameron and husband Brad, Jeffrey Phelps and wife Michelle, and Stacy Phelps.
