George Everett Wright died peacefully on June 17, 2026 in Morrisville, Vermont at age 94. He was born June 16, 1932 in Beacon, NY to George N. and Viola (Sweetman) Wright.

He married Carol Hack (predeceased) in 1954 and they had three children: Mercedes, G. Byron, and Moira. George later married Helen Wills Wilhelm in 1979, and they lived in Stowe, VT for over 45 years, wintering in Mesa, AZ, and enjoying their passion for tennis. George worked all his life in various positions at IBM and retired in 1985.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; his children, Mercedes Stevens and her husband Michael, Byron Wright and his wife Mary Jane, and Moira Eyre and her husband Richard; his step-daughters, Ann Wilhelm and Beth Wilhelm; his grandchildren, Hunter Wright (predeceased), Parker Wright, Garrett Elmendorf, and Cole Elmendorf; his great-grandchildren, Isolde Elmendorf and Bjorn Elmendorf; nieces and nephews, Ginger Sheldon, Wright Dykeman, and Sandra Matyka. George will be buried in Hopewell Junction, NY.
