Geraldine M (Sweetser) Siple 93 of Jericho passed away Wednesday December 6 2023
She was married to the late Marvin A Siple for 40 years.
She leaves behind Son Marvin Siple and wife Shirley of Williston, 2 daughters Denise (Derouchie) Bedell and husband Doug of Jericho, Lori Germain and husband Raymond of Bolton, 1 sister Gina (Siple) Gaudette of Winooski, daughter-in-law Carlene Siple of Jericho, 2 special nieces, daughters of Harold Baker, Judi Lloyd and Nancy Hall. Mom never got to meet them in person, the phone calls and FB group have been wonderful!
She leaves many nieces and nephews, 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren.
Gerry was born in Williston on 5-25-1930 daughter of the late Freeman and Mildred (Gorton, Baker) Sweetser. She was predeceased by 2 brothers Harold Baker and Freeman Sweetser Jr., 2 sisters Dorothy (Baker) Fields and Edna (Baker) Pollard. Son Wayne R Siple and another son stillborn in 1949. 2 Grandsons David A Derouchie and Douglas Bedell Jr. and a dear friend Fred Murray.
Gerry spent her life raising her 4 children, taking care of her sick husband and working outside the home to make ends meet. She and Dad were truly blessed to have had the homestead in Jericho which they built room by room. Their 2 sons were part of that building right from a one room building on the land .
She started work in Waterbury at the Tegu's Rialto Theatre with a beautiful letter of recommendation in May of 1948 from her boss as she moved on in life with Marvin and married July 27,1948. She sewed for Snelling and Snelling in Shelburne, sewed for Carter's putting zippers in children's jeans. Most of her life was customer service, cashiering, waitressing and cocktail waitressing.
She loved everyone, her circle was huge, just her family alone was a testament of circles amongst family and friends. We want to thank all of her family for being with her for a couple of good days, many laughs and tears. Ty to granddaughters Chass, Tanya and Tiffany and 2 great granddaughters, Paige and Amanda! Chass, Paige and Amanda ty for your medical backgrounds. Her 3 children got to spend the last days with their Mom due to the families of all 3 came and wrapped their kindness around them and took care of business.
