Hayden Denis
Morin
May 5, 1938 — Mar 6, 2026
Hayden Denis Morin, 87, of Eden, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, after a period of declining health. He was born on May 5, 1938, in Eden, the son of the late Denis and Reava (Deuso) Morin.
Hayden spent his childhood in Eden, attending the one-room schoolhouse. As an adult, he worked at the asbestos mines while also running a dairy farm alongside his wife. His hardworking spirit led him to the woods and sawmill for Buck Heath. Later, Hayden and Doris built a successful construction business. In 1979, Hayden was appointed road commissioner, serving the town of Eden for 19 and a half years. He was honored with the Bullard Award in 2007, a recognition he was especially proud of.
A passionate outdoorsman, Hayden loved sugaring and snowmobiling. He shared 67 years of marriage with his devoted wife, Doris Kennett Morin. Hayden is also survived by his children: Mark (Lynn), Rosalie Atherton (Jon), Tammy Ritchie (Dennis), Laurie Gillespie (Scott), Ricky (Juli), Tina McKnight (Dale), and Dennis (Anita). He was a proud grandfather of 18, great-grandfather of 31, and great-great-grandfather of 2. His constant companion was Indy, his beloved cat. Hayden is also survived by siblings Marian Russell, Virginia Tallman, Joyce Boivin, and Emma Earle (Harold).
He was predeceased by his parents, his son Richard, granddaughter Melinda Sue, sister June, and brothers Raymond, Lee, and Roy. He was also predeceased by brothers-in-law Ronald Russell, Robert Boivin Sr., Larry Tallman; sister-in-law Irene Morin; in-laws Arthur and Hildred Kennett, Frederick Kennett, Lila Deuso (Girdon), his son-in-law Earl Ritchie and William "Uncle Bill" Crooks. Hayden's life was surrounded by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends too numerous to name. Above all, his family—especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren—brought him immense joy.
