James F. Smith Jr., 66, of Northfield, VT passed away suddenly on April 7, 2025.

Born on May 26, 1958, Jim attended schools in Morrisville and Cabot, VT before enlisting in the U.S. Army. Jim was stationed in South Korea.

After his service in the military, Jim worked for many years as an A.S.E certified mechanic at local garages and dealerships. Later in life, Jim worked at Walmart in Berlin, VT. Upon his retirement, Jim worked part-time at Sodexo Operations, LLC at Norwich University in Northfield, VT.

Jim enjoyed being part of many get-togethers, Halloween parties and skeet shooting events with his family.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Katie; his mother, Adeline Smith; brothers, Steve, Bill and his wife, Sherry; sister, Laurie and her husband, Roger Perry; stepdaughter, Misty McGrail-Brown and grandkids, Alex and Wesley McGrail; and many nieces and nephews.

Jim is predeceased by his brother, Mike and his wife, Ruthie; three previous wives, Carrie, Kim, and Susan and their son, Shaun.
