Jane P.
Ransom
Jun 23, 1959 — Nov 19, 2023
Winooski, VT
With profound grief and immense gratitude, we announce the passing of Jane Morwood Ransom, 64, our deeply loving and devoted mother, sister, aunt, and friend. Jane left this earthly world and found all the promises of God fulfilled to her on November 19, 2023.
It is impossible to capture all that Jane was in just a few short paragraphs. For those blessed enough to have known her, Jane's warm love will cling to us for the rest of our lives. She was a brilliant shining light and to be in her presence was to feel loved and cherished. The highlights of Jane's whole life were her two boys, Joshua and David; she lit up with joy and love at the mere mention of their names and poured her whole heart into them with sweetness and strength until the end.
Jane grew up in Winooski, Vermont as one of 8 children, and was known as the staunch protector and ally of her siblings and friends. She graduated from Winooski High School in 1977. Jane was a lifelong learner earning her LNA license, and worked in a variety of industries, (including culinary, and the works of love that came out of her kitchen remain the best food we've ever eaten). However, her true calling was in her unwavering love for the Lord, and her desire to serve Him became the guiding light of her life. Jane had a servant's heart and lived by 1 Peter 4:10: "Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms."
Jane used her God-given gift to bring solace and guidance to those in need; her authenticity and wisdom were sought out by family, friends, and community members alike. Her kitchen was a vibrant and warm place where you could always find a delicious meal and a listening ear. She had a unique gift for connecting with people and made you feel emboldened and strong merely because she believed in you. She loved to travel and had the unique ability to make friends wherever she went. Jane's impact extended far beyond her treasured family, and she spent many years volunteering in the community and serving those in need.
Jane was more than a mother, sister, aunt, and friend; she was the spark that ignited joy in every gathering and the heartbeat of our family. Our grief is so deep but our thankfulness for having her in our life is even greater. She leaves behind a vibrant tapestry of memories, each thread woven with love, laughter, and a touch of her trademark feistiness. Jane was a woman of valor and a woman of strength. Her journey on this earth may have come to an end, but her spirit and influence will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched. Janey, we bid you farewell with love and gratitude, knowing that you are now in the loving arms of God. Prepare a table for us in heaven as you always did here on earth.
Jane is preceded in death by her parents Nicholas and Alice Morwood, brother James, and sister Christine. Jane leaves to cherish her memories with her beloved sons Joshua (Tanya) Ransom and David Ransom, who remain forever grateful to have Jane as their mother. She is also survived by her devoted twin sister Mary Morwood Ransom, sister Dr. Betty Morwood, and brothers Paul Morwood (Esq.), Dr. David Morwood, and Robert Morwood. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who felt her love and support throughout their whole lives and who will miss her dearly.
