Obituary

Jean Lee Barr Koch, age 65, passed away peacefully on January 29th at home after a courageous 1 ½ year battle with cancer. She was surrounded by loved ones who will honor her legacy by living their best lives to the fullest.

Jean was born on February 2nd, 1959 in Columbus Georgia to Brigadier General John Lee Barr and Ann (Lambert) Barr. She was a proud resident of Weybridge Vermont. A 1977 graduate of Rice Memorial High School. She began her work life as an inside sales representative for various food distribution companies, until settling in to what was her calling and passion in life, as a caregiver. Her pleasant, caring and giving heart was contagious to everyone she met and cared for. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Robert J. Koch, brother Jim Barr and his wife Cyndy and their children Kaitlyn, Trevor, and Ian. Granddaughter Iris Ann Barr, daughter of Jean's son Thomas Allen Barr and Chrissy Gleason. Step-Children Kasey Koch and her children Sophia and Jameson, Kathryn Koch and her son Ednan, and Korey Koch and her children Mark, Nevaeh, Sadie and Percy, Phillip Lacroix and his children James and Hazel, Jessica Sharrow and her children Logan and Carly. Her Uncle George Beach and his wife Mary, their children Matthew and Andrew, Her Aunt Dawn Harrington and her daughters Laurie Gove and Holly Koterman. Cousins, Al, Tom, and Jeff Tavares, Kathy Coleman, Doug Johnson, Juli Johnson and Cyndi Blaschak. Paul Meachum Jr, Judith Knutson, and Sharon Meachum Casey. And many cousins and friends in abundance.

She was predeceased in death by her first husband James "Benny" Lacroix, her son Thomas Allen Barr, her parents John and Ann Barr and many aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents.

There will be a service at the First Congregational Church of Burlington, 38 South Winooski Avenue on Saturday, February 15th at 10:00am. Arrangements are being made by Corbin and Palmer, 9 Pleasant Street in Essex Junction, VT. Donations may be made in her memory to Turning Point Center of Addison County, http://tpvt.org/
