Darul
Jul 12, 1949 — Aug 26, 2026
Joanne "Jodi" Darul (Kieslich), 77, of South Burlington, VT, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Joanne was the beloved daughter of the late Helena and Russell Kieslich. She was preceded in death by her father, Russell in 1993, and her mother, Helena in 2010.
Joanne is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Richard Darul; her devoted children, daughter Tanya Walker and her husband Robert of Essex, and son Christopher Darul of So. Burlington; her two cherished grandchildren, Brandon Walker and his wife Ashley of Cambridge, and Sydney Walker of Essex. She is also survived by her brother Allen Kieslich and his wife Anne of Colchester; her sister Karen "Kitty" Caron and her husband Bernard of Shelburne, and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Joanne graduated from Burlington High School in 1968 and went on to complete a nursing program, becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked for 25 years at the Medical Center of Vermont in the pediatric unit, where her love of children made her work especially meaningful. She later continued her career with the American Red Cross, where she worked for 12 years before retiring.
Above all, Joanne was a loving wife, devoted mother, and caring grandmother. She had a generous heart, a spirited and feisty personality, and an adventurous side that kept life interesting. Joanne loved trying new things and embracing adventure, even when her children sometimes tried to hold her back. She lived life with curiosity, determination, and a wonderful sense of independence. She was also a true dog lover, especially Dachshunds, who brought her great joy throughout her life.
Joanne will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her memory will live on through the love she shared, the adventures she embraced, the lives she touched, and the many cherished memories she leaves behind.
A Celebration of Life will be held later at the convenience of the family.
