Jonathan Kaleb Stone, 37, of Barre, VT passed away on March 29th, 2026 of a complicated health issue at Dartmouth Medical Center.

Jon was born in St. Johnsbury, VT on August 22nd, 1988. He attended schools in Winooski, St. Albans, and graduated from Spaulding High School before going to North Country Community College of Saranac Lake. Jon played hockey from youth league through college. Also playing varsity football and lacrosse. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and family gatherings. Jon was a very hard worker specializing in Underground Utility Construction, helping operate the family business as a crew foreman and equipment operator.

Jon is survived by his daughters Kristen and Kenzi, their mother Megan Hunter. His sister Chelsia Stone, parents Joseph and Diana Stone, cousins Sophia Stone and AJ, grandparents Leslie and Beatrice Cota, grandfather Paul Fink, Uncles Doug Cota, Dan Bushey, Whitey Mayo and their families. Aunts Patti Mayo, Priscilla Mayo, Pauline Hallberg and their families. Mimi Beverly Davis and partner Bill Tubbs, Beth Lowell and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins in Vermont and Long Island and many friends throughout his life here in Vermont.

Jon's greatest joy in life were his two daughters, Kristen and Kenzi Stone whom he loved dearly.

There will be Visiting Hours on April 8th, 2026 from 5-7pm at Gifford Funeral Home, 22 Depot Street, Richmond, VT.
