Katie Marie Line, 43, left this earth on September 29, 2026. She was born in Burlington, Vermont on September 6, 1983 to Bruce and Sherry (Bridge) Line.
Katie graduated from Winooski High School in 2001 and SUNY Plattsburgh in 2005 with a degree in communications. She was an administrative assistant for many companies in the Burlington area.
Growing up Katie was a dedicated athlete, playing softball, soccer, basketball, and running track and field. Although she enjoyed the competition the friendships she built with her teammates and coaches are what she truly valued. She loved spending time with family and friends, attending holiday gatherings, sporting events, concerts, line dancing classes, and of course the annual family trip to York Beach, Maine.
Katie was a beautiful, smart and caring person, which became evident every time anyone had the pleasure of spending time with her. Her smile and laugh were contagious.
Katie was Mom’s best friend.
She is survived by her parents Bruce and Sherry Line of Essex Junction, Vermont, her brother Brian and his wife Tricia from Milton, Vermont, her brother Corey Line from Woodbury, Vermont, her niece Brittany (Line) Noel and her husband Sam Noel, and her great nephew Mason Noel from Georgia, Vermont, and her nephew Alex Line from Milton, Vermont. She is also survived by Matt Sheehan, her life partner from Vergennes, Vermont, his dog named Miya (Katie called her Wittle!) as well as his cat named Boka. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Visiting hours will be on Friday, October 9, 2026 at LaVigne Funeral Home, 132 Main Street, Winooski, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.
Special thanks to the Burlington Fire Department Rescue as well as the staff at UVMMC Emergency room and Intensive Care units. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Winooski High School Athletics.
