Kenneth Downer 56 of Charlotte and East Calais VT passed away Saturday November 25, 2023 surrounded by his family in Berlin VT.

He was born July 26, 1967 in Burlington Vt to Albert & Agnes Downer of Hinesburg Vt.

September 19, 2009 he married Rebecca. Ken grew up in Hinesburg and graduated from CVU in 1985.Ken held a couple of different jobs in his working career with most of his career working for Harbour Industries in Shelburne VT.

Ken's most important, favorite job in life was being a Papa to his grandchildren that he had so much joy with. One of his favorite hobbies was woodworking. He built many things including furniture for his home with his wife.

Ken is survived by his wife Rebecca of East Calais Vt, his son Aaron of East Calais Vt and his children Tristan and Gabi, Kyle (Sarah) of Fort Myers Fl and their children Theo, Emma and Atreus. His sister Sheila(Kevin)Bothwell of Charlotte Vt, Michele (Gene)Goodspeed of Orwell VT. Many nephews and nieces. He and his niece Jennifer Goodspeed have always held a special close bond. She spent this past summer with him making memories, creating happiness and enjoyment for him where he could live life to the fullest. He is predeceased by both his parents.

Visiting hours will be held Saturday December 9, 2023 from 12:00pm-2:00pm at Gifford Funeral Home 22 Depot St. in Richmond VT, followed by a remembrance gathering that will be announced at the visitation. A private graveside service will be held in the spring.
