Laurette P. LaChance, 85 passed away on July 2, 2016 at home with her loving family by her side.

Laurette was born on August 9, 1930 in St. Johnsbury, VT. Daughter of Lucienne and Thomas Prevost.

Laurette was married on April 21, 1951 to Raymond who predeceased her in 2014.

Laurette will be remembered for her beautiful soprano singing voice, which she so lovingly shared as cantor and soloist at St. Joseph Church (now known as Co-Cathedral of Saint Joseph) in Burlington, VT, St. Peter Church in Big Pine Key, FL, Holy Cross Church in Colchester and several community chorus groups. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile and warm giving spirit.

Laurette was the proud mother of her six children and leaves - Thomas and his wife Linda of Jeffersonville, VT, David and his wife Colette of Colchester, VT, Daniel and his wife Lydia of Bonita Springs, FL, Robert and his wife Patricia of Westerville, OH, Louise and Martin Lavallee of Colchester & Essex, Michelle and her husband Carl of Oakgrove, OR. She was also so proud of her 21 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

She also leaves her siblings - Achilles and his wife Deborah Prevost, Gerard and his wife Rita Prevost, Rita and her husband Norman Airoldi, Madeleine and her husband Ronald Ducham.

The family wishes to thank the loving staff at Home Instead Senior Care and VNA Hospice for their exceptional, gentle care that allowed her to remain at home with family.

Visiting hours will be at LaVigne Funeral Home, 132 Main Street, Winooski, VT from 5 - 8 pm on Thursday, July 7, 2016. A Funeral Mass to be held at 11 am on Friday, July 8, 2016 at Holy Cross Church, 416 Church Road, Colchester, VT. Reception to follow.
