It is with extreme sadness we announce that Laurie Ann Martello died on October 9, 2026 after a short illness. Laurie was born on March 5, 1958 and resided in South Burlington for most of her life.
Laurie enjoyed many adventures throughout her life, Disney World, visits to Maine and spending time with her large family. Her adventures remind us that a life does not have to be extraordinary by the world's standards to be meaningful. Her life was not measured by conventional accomplishments, but by something far more personal: the connections she made with her family and the love that we shared back.
We honor the person Laurie was and the place she held in our lives and in those who knew and loved her.
Laurie leaves behind her loving parents, Anthony and Katherine Martello, her sisters and their husbands, Cheryl and Steve Smith, Kathy and Joe Paskevich and her brother, Anthony and his wife Aileen Martello. She also leaves behind her beloved nieces and nephews, Kate & Johnny Anthony, Brenna & Mike Leonard, Jack & Jessica Smith, Amy & Matt Buchanan, Caroline & Mitch Silva, Sarah & Joe Chevalier, Harry & McKenzie Smith and Ally and their children. She is also survived by her loving aunts, Corona Sheppard and Dorothy Corrigan and many cousins. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Thomas and Constance Martello and Francis and Ida Johnson, as well as beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.
Laurie's family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the loving and devoted caretakers who cared for her with love, kindness, and compassion throughout her life.
A visitation will be held at Lavigne Funeral Home in Winooski, VT on Friday, October 16 from 5pm to 7pm, followed by a mass at St Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Winooski, VT on Saturday, October 17th at 10am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Francis Xavier Church or St Francis Xavier school in her name.
