Obituary

Lorraine L. Willette, 97 of Essex Junction, VT died peacefully at Maple Ridge Memory Care on Nov. 13, 2023, after a brief illness.

Lorraine was born in Winooski, VT on March 16, 1926, the youngest daughter of Ubald and Lumina (LaMothe) Rocheleau. In 1949 she married the love of her life, Lester Willette. They were married for 64 years, until his passing in 2014. Lorraine lived in Winooski, VT raising three sons and working for The Vermont Toy Factory, where she did home sewing, making toys for the New York City market. In 1978 they moved to Windsor, CT where she worked for Pratt & Whitney (Middletown). After Lester's passing she moved back to Vermont to be closer to her three sons. Lorraine valued education, a neat and tidy home, shopping, making puzzles, and family time.

Survivors include her three sons and spouses, Glenn Willette and Pat Blair of Milton VT; Mark and Karen Willette of South Hero, VT and Atlantis, FL; Alan and Nancy Willette of South Alburg, VT; her three granddaughters, Amy and spouse Ryan Harrington of Kutztown, PA; Laura and her spouse Aaron Kaigle of Williston, VT and Emily Willette of Burlington, VT; her four great granddaughters, Katie and Lizzie Harrington and Genevieve and Margot Kaigle. She also leaves behind two special nieces, Claudette Johnson of Windsor, CT and Susan Flahive of Colchester, VT, who were both very instrumental in her well-being.

Lorraine was predeceased by her husband, Lester Willette; sisters Yolande Rousselle and Dorris Niquette of Winooski, VT, Martha Cole of Windsor, CT, Electa Pardeni and one brother, Sarto (Joe) Rocheleau, both of Petaluma, CA; and daughter-in-law Denise Willette of Jericho, VT

A private graveside service will be held in the spring at The VA cemetery in Windsor CT.
