Lynn (Madeline) Frances Baumrind
September 4, 1931 – November 23, 2024
Lynn (Madeline) Frances Baumrind, nee Bancheri, 93, of Stowe, VT, born in Flushing, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 23, surrounded by family and friends. Predeceased by her parents, Louis and Frances Bancheri, nee Mascali, both immigrants from Italy who earned degrees in pharmacy and provided significant influence, and beloved brother, Louis P. Bancheri, Jr. She graduated from the Mary Louis Academy, received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Ladycliff College for Women, and received a Master of Education in Early Education from Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY.
She taught in the Syosset Schools on Long Island for 14 years. She and her husband Sol, their two sons, Paul and Josh, and Sol's Dad, Victor, lived in Glen Head, New York, before purchasing the Gables Inn in 1975. They sold the Inn in 2000, but their "door is always open" lifestyle resulted in a large extended family of former employees, guests, and locals, too many to be named.
She was an active committee member in the Stowe Area Association, a member of the Stowe School Board, an organizer of the Youth Hockey Program, and a board member of the Stowe Theater Guild, Blessed Sacrament Choir, Osher Life Learning, and Stowe Historical Society.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, business partner, and "actor," Sol, of 45 years. She loved her many Stowe friends, Connecticut family, Long Island nieces and nephews' families, friends, and roots…an avid Yankee fan. She was also forever grateful for her long-time Stowe friends, who meant so much to her.
She leaves behind her beloved sons Paul (Angie) Baumrind and Josh (Tonya) Baumrind and her much-loved grandchildren Lucca, Jack, Kaiya, and Dash. In lieu of flowers, direct donations can be made to the Stowe Theater Guild or Lamoille County Home Health and Hospice.
A service for Lynn will be held at a later date.
