Marguerite "Peg" (Galaher) Pratt

Burlington, VT

Peg Pratt passed away on Saturday June 20, 2026 at UVM Medical Center in Burlington, VT.

Peg was born on April 27, 1931 to Hazel and Marshall Galaher in Moretown, VT. She graduated from Springfield High School and Castleton Teachers College in 1952.

Peg married fellow Castleton student Maurice "Jeff" Pratt on June 24, 1951. Peg's teaching career began in Hinesburg as an elementary school teacher and continued in Shelburne where she was the middle school librarian. Peg was a long time quilter, reader and Hospice volunteer.

Peg was predeceased by her parents and siblings and her husband, Jeff. She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey and Thomas (Susan), grandchildren Carrie Pratt (Mel Symeonides) and Emily Farnham-Haskell (Zac), and great-granddaughter Ellie Farnham-Haskell.

The family thanks the staff at Converse Home for the compassionate care that Peg received during her final 3 years.

A private family burial will be held later this summer at Shelburne Village Cemetery.
