Marjorie Washburn, a cherished member of the Morrisville community, passed away on January 27, 2024, at the age of 80. Born on June 4, 1943, in Herkimer, New York, Marjorie lived a life marked by kindness and dedication as a wife, nurse, mother, and grandmother. She was known for her love of square dancing and her commitment to helping newborn babies and their mothers at Copley Hospital for more than 30 years.

Marjorie graduated from Keeseville High School in Keeseville, NY, in 1961 and went to Mary Fletcher Allen School of Nursing in Burlington, achieving her nursing degree in 1964. While on a rotation for nursing school, she met the love of her life, Douglass. They were married on August 1, 1964.

Marjorie was predeceased by her parents, Karl and Mary Ford of Clintonville, New York. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Douglass of Morrisville. She is also survived by her son, David Washburn (his wife Demetria) of Saratoga Springs, NY; daughter Lisa Washburn of Hyde Park; two sisters, Nancy Loya (her husband Stanton) of Keeseville, NY, and Cynthia Ford Johnston (her husband David Johnston) of Westport, NY; her brother Donnie Ford (his wife Gitte) of Keeseville, NY; and her grandsons Alexander Washburn (his wife Britany) of Colorado Springs, CO, and Stephan Washburn of New York, NY.

A brief memorial service will be held at the United Community Church of Morrisville on Saturday, February 10, at 1 PM, with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend.
