Mary C. Mahoney, 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 20th, 2024, at Ave Maria Home in Richford, Vermont after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Mary was born on November 15th,1939, in Rutland, Vermont to Harry and Grace DeLorme.

On March 31st, 1962, she married Gerald Mahoney at St. Joseph's Cathedral in Burlington, Vermont. From then on, they raised their two children Michael and Donna in Jericho, Vermont.

Mary worked for the State of Vermont dental division for many years. Mary greatly enjoyed hosting parties for family and friends. She was often known for her fun Christmas parties. Mary also enjoyed traveling with lifelong friends Lois and Guy Kittell. She truly loved her family and was a kind and sweet person.

Mary is survived by her son Michael Mahoney (wife Jacinthe Mathieu) of Essex, Vermont, and her daughter Donna Ries (companion Scott Laramee) of Colchester, Vermont. Mary is also survived by her grandchildren James Ries, Daniel Ries, Sean Mahoney, Melinda Ries, and Briege Mahoney; great-grandchildren Riley and Adley Ries. Mary is also survived by her sister Susan Gilmore (husband Gary).

Mary is predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Gerald Mahoney.

A Catholic Mass will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 20 Jericho Road, Essex, Vermont, on Friday, June 28th, 2024, at 11:00 am.

A gathering will be downstairs in the church following Mass. The burial will be held privately at a later date.
