Obituary

Mildred Susan Dubraski Zehnacker, RN (retired) passed peacefully into the wonder of eternal life surrounded by her family on February 21, 2024, at her home in Mansfield Place. She leaves a family of 52 who will always treasure the legacy of love that she shared with every one of them. Millie was born on July 9, 1927, to John and Susan Dubraski in Poughkeepsie, New York. She was raised in Poughkeepsie and graduated from Vassar Bros Hospital School of Nursing. She married Florian Joseph Zehnacker, and they resided in Poughkeepsie until they moved to Essex Junction, Vermont in 1957. Millie had a full career as a nurse in the IBM Medical Department while raising her family. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, playing cards with friends and family, and supporting her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren in their many endeavors.

Millie was predeceased by her loving husband, Florian, son-in-law, Ben Kershner, her parents, sisters, brothers, and some nieces and nephews. Millie is survived by her sons, David (Betti) Zehnacker and Jonathan (Kim) Zehnacker; her 3 daughters: Kathryn Kershner, Judith (Dave) Adams, and Marianne (Jerry) Riordan; her grandchildren: Paula Riggen, DJ (Katie) Zehnacker, Erin (Matt) Guzowski, Jeffrey (Renee) Kershner, Dan (Laura) Kershner, Dave (Megan) Adams Jr., Elizabeth (Jonathan) Whicher, Phill (Karen) Adams, Amanda(Mike) Bickley, Todd (Kelly) Riordan, Kevin Riordan, Sara (Alex) Putnam, Kiera Zehnacker, and Lauren Zehnacker; and her great-grandchildren: Carly, Elliott, and Colby Riggin, Stefan and Aristea Zehnacker, Evie and Noah Guzowski, Samantha and Zachary Kershner, Shelby and Cameron Kershner, Ripley Adams, Lucy and Alexander Whicher, Silas and Everett Adams, Bode and Graham Riordan, and Tanner Putnam. Millie is also survived by her sister-in-law, Joan Zehnacker, and many special nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Mansfield Place for the loving care given to our mom, Millie, over the years and their attentiveness to her needs in her final days. We also want to thank Bayada Hospice for their comfort care and support shown not only to our mom but to our family as well.

Visiting hours will be held on March 21, 2024, from 4 PM to 7 PM at Corbin & Palmer, Pleasant Street, Essex Junction. A funeral mass will take place at Holy Family Church, Lincoln Street, Essex Junction, on March 22, 2024, at 11 AM. Burial will be later at the convenience of the family.
