On Sunday, January 19th Nancy G. Comey, died at the age of 78 at her home in Stowe, Vermont. Nancy was born in St. Johnsbury, Vermont on December 22nd, 1946, the daughter of Andrew and Betty Cowens. Nancy graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy with the class of 1964.

Nancy was an avid reader, enjoyed playing solitaire and spending time with her family. A fixture in the Stowe, Vermont hospitality industry and community, Nancy worked most notably as the head chef at the Yodler Inn, currently operating as the Stowe Village Inn. Nancy's engaging personality, friendly demeanor and infectious sense of humor made her a treasured member of the community. Nancy's love for her family and friends was unbridled, and it flowed abundantly.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Robert M. Comey, of Stowe, VT. She is survived by her partner Todd Phelps, of Stowe, Vermont; son Eric Lumbra and wife Erika of Columbus, Ohio; three brothers, Marty Cowens and wife Charlene of Littleton, NH, Dave Cowens and wife Vicki, of The Villages, FL, and Nathan "Putt" Cowens and wife Kathy, of Leesburg, FL; 2 grandchildren, Lucas Lumbra and wife Jill, of Columbus, NE and Tucker Lumbra of Columbus, OH.

The family will be conducting a celebration of life for Nancy in the coming months.
