Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nathan (Nate) Arnold Douglass, 50, of Morrisville, Vermont surrounded by loving family and friends Tuesday September 29, 2026

Nate was born on June 13th 1976, the son of Gerald and Judith Douglass.

Nate attended Lamoille Union High School where he graduated with the class of 1995.

Nate worked for friends Ed and Mary Ann Wilson since the age of 19 as a route manager where he earned one of his nicknames "The Candyman".

Nate was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, camping, shooting skeet, riding snowmobiles and ATVs. On June 30th 2019 Nate shot a perfect score of 25 clays pigeons in a row. When asked by his mother if he had to buy a round of drinks he replied "No! They shot my hat!"

Nate was always happy to use his knowledge of hunting to educate future hunters. Nate was also a lifetime member of The North American Hunting Club.

Nate is survived by his mother, Judith Douglass; his brothers, Patrick and Matthew (Shari) Douglass; uncles and aunts, Howard (Bud) and Mindy Coan, and Scott and Donna Coan; nieces and nephews, Megan, PJ, Ana, Andrew, and Crystal; many cousins; and his buddy, Sylas.

Nate was predeceased by his father, Gerald Douglass; and his aunts, Linda Douglass and Marty Coan.

A gathering of Nate's family and friends will be held at the Lake Eden recreation area Saturday October 17th 2026 from 2-5pm.
