Obituary

Paul Charles Garcia, 83, of Northfield, Vermont passed away on February 17, 2025, with his family by his side. Born on July 20, 1941, to Olga (Lorenzini) and James Garcia, he lived his life on the family farm located at the Four Corners. He married Joyce Peace, and they recently celebrated their 50th anniversary.

Over the years he accumulated over 75 antique tractors. He enjoyed driving them in the Labor Day Parade and participating in tractor shows. He was a member of numerous antique tractor clubs, including the Four Corners Antique Tractor Club, started in 2024, by members of the community in his honor. He was quick to lend a hand, generous, and shared his knowledge with the young and old.

After purchasing the family farm in the 70s, he continued raising Holsteins and opened and operated Garcia Trucking, a successful household moving company, later transitioning to heavy equipment and excavating. He sugared for 20 years, starting the hobby after his youngest daughter asked where syrup came from. He served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam, thereafter joining and being an integral part of the American Legion Post 63, serving over 50 years and holding multiple positions including Commander. He was a member of the Forty and Eight Club (40 & 8), served on the Northfield Planning Commission, was on the Board of the Washington County Field Days, and was an icon in the Northfield community.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters Paula (Rob) O'Neil of Stamford, Vermont, Debbie (Wesley) Stevens of Northfield, Vermont, and Wendy (Alexander) Krupp of White Plains, New York, his sisters Linda Porter, Rita Bassett (Jean Marc Cote) and Janice (David) Lambert, along with many special nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. His pride and joy were his grandchildren, Brooke and Katlyn O'Neil, Matthew, Max, Emily and Eliza Stevens, and Mage and Rowan Krupp.

His parents, his daughter Jennifer, and his siblings James, Michael, Ruthie, and Lucille are predeceased. His wife was his caregiver and devoted the last four years caring for him despite the difficulties caused by his disease, allowing him to remain at home until the time of his passing. To honor his wishes there will be no services.
