Rachel Prescott Rich

January 22, 1934 - June 15, 2025 of Northfield, Vermont

Rachel Prescott Rich, 91, passed away peacefully at Gifford Medical Center's Garden Room in Randolph, Vermont.

Born on January 22, 1934, to Earl and Viola (Hutchinson) Prescott, Rachel was raised alongside her four siblings - two brothers and two sisters - all of whom preceded her in death.

In 1953, Rachel married George J. Rich, and together they welcomed their son, George E. Rich, in 1954. Rachel faced profound loss when both her beloved husband and son passed away after courageous battles with cancer.

Rachel dedicated many years to her work at the wool mill in Northfield, Vermont. She was known for her generous spirit and caring hands, volunteering at the Northfield Senior Center where she lovingly crocheted lap blankets for veterans. Her passion for crocheting brought comfort not only to herself but to countless others who were touched by her handmade gifts.

Rachel's legacy lives on through her five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish memories of their devoted grandmother and great-grandmother.

Her life was marked by resilience, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to serving others. Rachel's gentle spirit and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A small graveside ceremony will be held at the Calvary Cemetery in Northfield, Vermont, July 16th at 1:00. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Gifford Medical Center's Garden rooms.
