Randall
Gray
Sep 9, 1959 — Jul 15, 2026
Randall B. Gray, 66, of Northfield, Vermont, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of his family and friends, on Wednesday, July 15, 2026. Randy was born on September 9, 1959, in Newport City, Vermont, to Richard and Bettie Gray. A longtime resident of Northfield, he was proud to be a "Falls Kid," carrying with him a deep appreciation for his hometown and the community that shaped him.
Randy will be remembered as a simple, hardworking, methodical, and practical man whose kindness, warm smile, and wonderful sense of humor made everyone around him feel at ease. He had a deep love for classic rock, fishing, and hot rods, and was especially proud of his
recently acquired dream car, a 1939 Plymouth Coupe, which brought him tremendous joy. Above all else, Randy was devoted to his family. He shared 45+ wonderful years of marriage with his high school sweetheart and devoted wife, Terry Tucker Gray. Together, they built a life
centered on love, hard work, and family. He was a proud father to his son, Nathan (Tanja) Gray; his daughter, Kaitlyn (Cayden) Calcut; and Edward (Carrie) Fionda, who, though not related by blood, was Nathan's lifelong best friend and became like a third child to Randy and Terry, who lovingly considered him part of their family. One of Randy's greatest joys was being a grandfather, and he treasured every moment spent with his grandchildren. He also leaves behind his faithful long-haired German Shepherd, Shane, who was a constant companion.
Randy dedicated 22 years of his career to FedEx Freight as a city truck driver. Known for his strong work ethic and dependability, he took great pride in his profession and became the first driver to retire from the company in Berlin, Vermont.
One of Randy's greatest passions was youth hockey. He was heavily involved in coaching both Nate and Kate's teams over the years, dedicating countless hours to teaching, encouraging, and supporting not only his own children, but many young athletes throughout the community. His patience, leadership, and love of the game left a lasting impact. Whether he was enjoying a drive in his beloved 1939 Plymouth Coupe, listening to classic rock, working on projects, cheering at the hockey rink, playing ball with his pup Shane, fishing at their
lake house on Lake Champlain, or simply spending time with those he loved, Randy found happiness in life's simple moments. His quiet strength, generous heart, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Randy leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, hard work, and kindness that will live on through his family and friends. Though our hearts are heavy with his loss, we find comfort in the countless memories he gave us and the example he set throughout his life.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Randy's lifelong friends and high school buddies, Keith Matheson and Scott Neun, for the extraordinary care, compassion, and unwavering support they provided throughout Randy's illness. Their kindness extended far
beyond Randy, offering tremendous comfort and help to the entire family during an incredibly difficult time. Their friendship and selflessness will never be forgotten.
The family would also like to extend their sincere appreciation to Robert and Mary Kelley and Timmy Partlow. Robert was always Randy's right-hand man around the park, and together, Robert, Mary, and Timmy were loyal and cherished friends. Whether Robert was lending a
helping hand or simply sharing life's everyday moments, their steadfast friendship meant the world to Randy and his family, who are deeply grateful for all they did.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Episcopal Church. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Randy's life immediately following the service at The STIC in Northfield Falls.
