Remi W. Gratton Jr. of South Burlington, VT passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Burlington Health and Rehab in Burlington, VT.

He was born in Westford, VT on April 5,1931, the son of Remi and Adeline (Pratt) Gratton. Remi served in the Air Force for 6 years. While in the Air Force he was a proud member and goalie with the Rhine Main Air Force Rockets hockey team out of Germany. After his years in the service, he had a long career in construction, most notably with Franchi Construction and Wright and Morrissey.

Remi loved sports, especially hockey and all the New England sports teams. When he was younger he was an avid golfer.

Remi is survived by his children and their spouses, Remi III, Leanne (Ed), Jeffrey (Pam), Pamela and Dana (Vince); four grandchildren, Tyler (David), Kelsey (Jarrett), Shea and Ethan; and a great grandson, Jakob. He also leaves behind his sisters in law, Janice Gratton and Eileen Boivin, his brother in law Francis Boivin and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Remi was predeceased by his wife, Rhona (Boivin) Gratton in 1997; his son, Bryan in 2020; and his 4 brothers and 8 sisters.

His family would like to thank the staff at Burlington Health and Rehab as well as UVM Home Health and Hospice for their care. Special thanks to Sheila Brodsky for her years of care and friendship.

The family is having a private viewing. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Thursday January 18, 2024 at St. Joseph's Cathedral in Burlington, VT. A burial will follow at New Mount Calvary Cemetery in Burlington. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to UVM Home Health and Hospice at Uvmhomehealth.org.
