Robert W. Bissonnette, 93, a lifelong resident of Winooski, died peacefully at home surrounded by loving family on Friday, Aug. 8, 2014. Robert was born in Winooski on May 4, 1921, the son of Joseph and Flora (Fremeau) Bissonnette. He was educated at St. Louis Convent, and was employed for many years at the Pease Grain Company, Vermont Furniture, and at St. Francis Xavier Parish, including the church, school and cemetery. Robert enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, his dogs, and helping neighbors with lawn care and projects. He is survived by many nieces and nephews; and was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the LaVigne Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 132 Main St. in Winooski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Winooski. Interment will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.
