Rose Marie
Barry
Aug 6, 1943 — Aug 4, 2026
Rose Marie Barry, 82, of Hyde Park, Vermont, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2026 after battling
a lengthy illness.
Born in Morrisville, Vermont, on August 6, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Edward David
Adams and Doris Evelyn Adams (Dudley). A true Vermont "woodchuck" through and through, Rose
loved the Green Mountains of Vermont and always found her way back to her home state, even after
living elsewhere at different times in her life.
Rose was an excellent cook who took great joy in preparing meals for weddings and family gatherings.
Her dinner rolls were legendary. In her earlier years she worked a variety of jobs, many of them
connected to cooking. Later in life she worked as a bookkeeper.
Above all, Rose treasured her family and friends. She especially enjoyed time spent with her
grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved her pets – especially her dogs "Peaches" and
"Teal'c", and cat "Whisky".
She was predeceased by her son, Roy A. Barry, Jr., brothers Phillip Adams, Gordon Adams and James
McNaney, and sister Esther Putnam.
Rose is survived by her daughter, Tammy Judkins; her son, Phillip Adams; her sisters Mary McLean,
Edna Lewis, Judy Baraw, Betty Courchaine, and Eleanor Malinoski; and by numerous nieces and
nephews.
A celebration of Rose's life will be held in the near future, with details to be announced by the family at
a later date
