It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sandra Lee Mason, formerly Shepard, 83, of Hardwick, VT.

Sandra was born June 28th, 1941, in Middlebury, VT, the daughter of Mildred Marie Shepard.

Sandra graduated high school in 1959, and shortly thereafter started her family.

Sandra Shepard married Jesse W. Mason on June 5th, 1960, in Bristol, VT. They were together for 25 years and shared 5 children together: Linda Jean Mason, Rodney J. Mason, Dan L. Mason, John H. Mason, and Cynthia L. Mason. Sandra also had a son, Bruce Shepard.

Sandra worked hard her entire life, to support her family, in the healthcare industry. She worked at McKerley Health Care Centers for over 10 years and eventually retired from The Manor in Morrisville, VT. Sandra received many awards and acknowledgements for her contributions to these organizations. Later, she was a home provider for Arnold Brown, of Craftsbury, VT.

When she wasn't working, she loved to go for rides to see the beauties of Vermont. She loved seeing her family grow as her children became parents and talked often about her grandchildren. She loved to read, do puzzle books, listen to country music, and watch game shows in her later years. Sandra was always looking for ways to help other people, even when she was out of work. She was always giggling and loved sharing stories with her family. Since 2021, Sandra's daughter, Cindy, had been taking care of her, and the two lived together for the last 2 years of her life. Sandra passed away on December 26th, 2024.

Remaining to cherish Sandra's memory are her children, Linda J. Mason of Johnson, VT, Dan L. Mason of Cady's Falls, VT, John H. Mason of Barre, VT, and Cynthia L. Mason of Hardwick, VT; her step-children, Kristy Mason and Rose Mason, both of Ticonderoga, NY; her grandchildren, Tyler Mason, Shania and Kane Plante and their daughter, Brooklyn, Mary Stowell of Oklahoma, James, Crystal, Margery, Natasha, Rosey, Randy, Johnathan, Heather, and Renea; as well as her grandchildren's partners and many great-grandchildren.

Preceding Sandra in death are her mother, Mildred Shepard; her step-father, Walt Fletcher; her children, Bruce Shepard and Rodney J. Mason; and grandson, Travis M. Mason.

Sandra will be buried at Pleasant View Cemetery in Morrisville, VT. A funeral will be held there in the Spring of 2025, and details will be shared closer to that time.
