Obituary

The world is a little less brighter today because on 11/13/2025, Scott D. Marino, 54, one of its brightest lights, left this world to join his Mommy and Daddy (and many past game show hosts and announcers) in heaven. Scott was born in Philadelphia, PA, on 10/22/1971 and was diagnosed with autism in 1976, long before many people knew that word. However, that word did not define who Scott was.

He was a much-loved son to Ralph and MaryAnn, a beloved brother and best friend to Mike and Kim, and an amazing and much-loved Uncle to Joshua and MaryRose. Scott loved game shows, sports (especially his beloved Philly teams), and his dogs. Scott had a wonderful sense of humor and would find humor in things others may not have, but he could always make us laugh. In a different life, Scott would have, beyond a doubt, been on TV in some way. Whether a game show host or a late-night host, he would have filled either role easily. Scott had a photographic memory, and he was "Google" for his family. His specialty was celebrities, and he often somehow knew when one had passed away before it was on the news!

Being an Uncle was Scott's proudest title, and he did a wonderful job. He jumped way out of his comfort zone and took to being a father figure to Joshua and MaryRose when it became necessary without anyone asking. He was there for every milestone and was front and center for every tumbling class and play. He gave piggyback rides, talked about and played cars, and played the perfect prince to his princess. He dreamed of being 'the Uncle of the Bride or Groom" one day. Scott was stronger than anyone would have thought he could be, and he was a warrior and a champion for the 18 months he was sick! He would tell anyone this! He rarely complained and faced each challenge with a grace that is impossible to name or describe. He is deeply missed by those who love him, and he has left a mark on this earth in his own special way that will shine with every memory we have of him. We have no doubt Scott is hanging out with the many game show hosts and announcers that were like family to him who have passed, surrounded by the many dogs he deeply missed, while his Mom stands by worried about him. Arrangements are private. In lieu of flowers or donations, his family is asking that you do a small kind act for someone, as it was the small things that meant the most to Scott.
