Shirley Foster, 87, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 17, 2024, in her hometown of Burlington, Vermont.

She was born on January 3, 1937 to the late James Sr. and Elaine Delisle. She married Elwin (AL) H. Foster Jr. when she was 24 years old and went on to have four beautiful children, Chris, Tracy, Eileen and Scott.

Shirley enjoyed her many years of dedication to Burlington Convalescent Center caring for elderly patients. She loved spending time with family, listening to music and watching her favorite movies. She also loved cooking and baking, admiring the beauty of colorful flowers and watching for her favorite bird, the cardinal. Shirley always had an amazing sense of humor and an incredible ability to make everyone laugh.

She is survived by her sisters, Carolyn Demore and Cindy Jones; daughters, Tracy Lavallee and Eileen Yandow; grandchildren, Sean Jaques, April Lang, Julia Reed, Corey Lavallee, Chad Hatin, Sam Foster, Danielle Yandow, Alissa Yandow, Cassie Emmons, and Oliver Morrison; eleven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Family, friends, and others are invited to LaVigne Funeral & Cremation Service, 132 Main St. Winooski, from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM on Friday, March 29, to reminisce and honor the life of Shirley. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 3, at 1:00pm at Fairview Cemetery, Old Colchester Road in Essex Junction.
