Obituary

Shirley A. (Trieb) Streeter May 21st, 1941 – January 21st, 2026

Shirley Ann Streeter, the heart and matriarch of her family, passed away on Wednesday January 21st at her home in West Bolton.

Shirley was born on May 21st, 1941, to Ella and Theodore Trieb and grew up with her four sisters in Jericho and Richmond, Vermont. She married Robert (Jig) Streeter II and together they raised their three sons. In early years, they lived on "The Block" in Jonesville and then in the home they built in West Bolton. They had a large extended family, and their door was always open and her table a gathering place. If you needed a place to land, food to eat, a story to be told, a shoulder to cry on or someone to talk to, her door was always open.

While raising three active boys, Shirley and Jig spent several years running Oxbow Mountain, a small ski mountain in West Bolton. Shirley had some other small jobs, but she spent most of her time creating well remembered meals, canning food from her garden, keeping her fires burning, listening to country music, caring for her children and her home.

Shirley loved her family fiercely and there wasn't anything she wouldn't do for them. They were her world and holidays at her home were abundant with gifts, her incredible holiday meals and endless laughter. In her later years she enjoyed shopping trips, going to the cassinos and lunches out with her sisters. Shirley loved feeding and watching the birds and visits from her sister Alice Place, who became her close companion.

Shirley is predeceased by her husband Robert Hoyt Streeter II, her son Richard P. Streeter, great grandson Robert F. Lowell, her sisters Helen Boyer and Jean Carr. Shirely leaves behind her sons Robin (Virginia) Streeter, Robert III (Mary)Streeter; grandchildren Adam (Candy) Streeter, Spring (Doug) Lowell, Sarah (Jesse) Haven, Stacey (Bret Kirchhoff) Streeter, Kaitlin Streeter, Morgan (Dan Grimason) Streeter, Jesse (Lauren Havill) Streeter; great grandchildren: Emily Lowell, Nora and Brigham Kirchhoff, Wesley and Wilson Haven, Addy and Theordore Grimason. Owen, James, Isaiah, Ella and Kole Streeter; her sisters Alice Place and Jane Lacillade, along with her extended family.

Shirley leaves behind a generation shaped by her strength, honesty, humor, and unwavering love. Our family will forever carry her voice, her lessons, and her love with us.

A service will be held on Wednesday January 28th at 2pm at the Richmond Congregational Church. A reception will follow at the church. There will be a Burial in the spring.
