Susan Carol (Bown) Schryer

Born April 14, 1951, daughter of Harold and Eleanor Bown. Shortly after her birth, her family moved from Monkton to Shelburne where she enjoyed growing up next to the Shelburne beach with her siblings.

She attended Shelburne schools, CVU, and graduated with honors from Champlain College. Prior to graduating, Susan started her accounting career at New England Federal Credit Union (now EastRise), retiring after 44 years in 2015.

In 1973, she was joined in marriage with Rob Schryer Jr. Susan found pleasure in visiting area casinos, sharing lunch with friends, camping in the Bar Harbor, Maine area, cheering on the UVM basketball teams, and, most recently, her two grandsons.

She always thought of others before herself.

Susan is survived by her husband Rob, sons Eric and Todd, daughter-in-law Sarah, grandsons Leo and Eddie, brother Mark, and a special niece, Ellen. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by those above and many other in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. Susan was predeceased by her parents, brother Eric, and sisters Lynda and Audrey.

A celebration of Susan's life will be scheduled later in the spring.
