Obituary

Wilfred H. Bell, 77 of Northfield, VT passed away on May 10, 2024, in his home after a long battle with heart disease. Wilfred was born on May 9, 1947, to Wilfred J. Bell and Leone M. Bell (Dopp).

He was raised in Northfield, VT. Wilfred worked 30 years in the granite industry before retiring. In 1981 he married his wife, Debra A. Bell (Drown). Wilfred's hobbies included splitting wood and feeding the birds. He and his wife Debra loved nothing more than the many pugs they rescued during their marriage. Wilfred's kindness and selflessness was shown every day in his commitment to ensuring those around him were taken care of.

Wilfred is survived by his wife, Debra A. Bell (Drown), his daughter Karen L. Cholewa (Shadel), her husband Travis L. Cholewa and their two children, Kaylan A. Cholewa and Garrett R. Cholewa, his son John J. Shadel and partner Kristin Covey, and John's two kids, Emily G. Shadel and Logan C. Shadel, his daughter Tressor L. Shadel and her partner Carrie Stange, and his daughter Koren R. Steventon and her daughter Cheyenne R. Steventon. He is also survived by his brother Francis J. Bell and sisters Bonnie L. Bell and Nancy J. Goodrich (Bell) and her husband Robert H. Goodrich. He is predeceased by his father, Wilfred J. Bell and mother, Leone M. Bell (Dopp). He is also predeceased by his sister Linda A. Szlosek (Bell) and brother Steven M. Bell.

In remembrance of Wilfred's life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to Green Mountain Pug Rescue in his name. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 29 at the Northfield American Legion – Post 63 from 2:00pm-4:00pm.
