Obituary

William (Bill) Rowell 89, passed on October 20, 2026 at The Residence at Otter Creek in Middlebury VT. He had been a resident there for the past year while dealing with dementia.

Bill was born in 1937 in Hardwick VT. He was a graduate of Hardwick Academy and proud to be a member of the class of 1955. He then went on to the University of Vermont and spent most of his adult life in the Burlington area, most recently living in Williston for the past 30 years. He was a Commercial Real Estate Agent for the majority of his working time. Summers were spent at the family camp, on Caspian Lake in Greensboro Vermont that has been in the family since 1945. He loved his time at camp, and playing golf at Mountain View Country Club.

Bill was predeceased by his parents Harland (Bub) and Jennie Rowell. He was also predeceased by his wife Cherry, and daughter Jill.

Shortly after High School Bill married Janice Lamonda from East Hardwick and they moved to Burlington to attend college. Soon they had their son Dale, and later daughter Elizabeth. They divorced in 1973.

In 1995 Bill married Cherry Robertson. They enjoyed many years together spending winters in Florida, and summers at the lake. Cherry also added two more children to the family from her previous marriage, Scott, and Jill.

Bill is survived by his son Dale and wife Diane, daughter Elizabeth, son Scott and partner Debbie. Also his grandchildren, Colby, Calsey (husband Caleb), Paige (husband Paul), Jack, Ben, Nick, and Kyle. Also Great Grandchildren Landon, Gordie, and Addison.

The family would like to thank everyone at The Residence at Otter Creek from the wonderful care they gave to Bill while he was there. There aren't enough kind words for you. Also thanks to Alicia Fleming of Golden Guide Real Estate for everything she has done over the past 4 years for all her help with both Cherry and Bill in so many areas from getting them into proper elder care, to selling their home. You are beyond the best.

Per Bill's request there will be no calling hours or services. Online condolences can be made here on Corbin & Palmer's website.
