Obituary

William (Bill) Small Jr., 83, of Morrisville, died suddenly on February 17, 2025 doing what he loved—taking care of others. Bill was born on March 28, 1941, in Morrisville to William and Eva Small. He loved playing sports, especially soccer, and graduated from Peoples Academy in 1961. After graduation, Bill joined the Army, where he proudly served for three years.

Bill married the love of his life, Sandra Draper, on October 18, 1964. They were truly blessed and happily celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this past fall.

Bill spent most of his working years at Johnson State College. He truly loved the people he worked with, the students, and took great pride in his responsibilities. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge and skills with others, especially younger generations. When Bill retired, he made a vow to spend the rest of his days helping others. He certainly did that and more!

Bill is survived by his wife, Sandra; his daughter, Cheryl, and her husband, Michael; his son, Bill; his grandchildren, Jason and fiancée Lexxi, Liz and fiancée Emily, Nikki, and Adaline; a brother, Everette and his wife Sally; and two sisters, Evelyn and Marlene, along with two sisters-in-law, Alene and Donna. He is also survived by close family, Betsy Cookson and her husband Dale and Lorinda Smith and her husband Dennis. Also cherished were his many nieces, nephews, friends, and beloved pets.

Bill was predeceased by his parents, William and Eva; his in-laws, Frederick and Priscilla Draper; his grandson, Joshua Perry; his brothers, Winford, Lester, and Winston and wife Clara; and his brother-in-law, Luther.

In accordance with Bill's wishes, no formal services will be held.
